A History of Kennels Beach
Our Home Away From Home
The community now known as Kennels Beach was originally known as "The Bays." The primary residents of The Bays were Con and Lillie Miller, who eventually sold the land and house to Philip Kennels Sr. in 1927. Over the next several decades, land and houses were leased or sold to families from all around North Carolina. These families would go on to be the founders of our community with Philip Kennels and his family at the head. Kennels has changed a lot over the years, but is still known for its fishing, beautiful sunsets and vistas, and a community of friends and family who love the beach and the memories this place holds and creates to this day.
